Hidden Gem in Spokane

When you think about a “classy night on the town” vibe for your engagement session in Spokane, do you think of the Historic Davenport Hotel? Of course you do. We all do. That’s what the thought process was for A & C and their second engagement session. However, it was a Saturday night and the Davenport is a hot spot for weekend weddings. So I had to come up with a backup plan in case it was too busy. I did a simple search for hotels in Downtown Spokane with similar vibes, and I came upon the Montvale Hotel - right on the next block from the Davenport. I looked at pictures on Google, and thought this was a cute little second choice for us and what they were looking for. So I called and made sure they were okay with the three of us coming to do pictures in their lobby (or what I thought was their lobby). We got the okay! So I asked if A would be okay with us starting at the Davenport then make our way to the Montvale and she said let’s do it!

A night on the Davenport Mezzanine

I know any Spokane Wedding Photographer could talk all night about the Davenport, so I won’t take up your time on that topic in this post. The gem in question here is the Montvale. Nothing could have prepared me for the treasure trove of vintage beauty that we were walking into. First you walk into the small, quiet lobby right off the busy street. Then walk up the carpeted steps to an open space with velvet couches and black fireplace under a massive skylight. You bet we used that space to our advantage, but the real star was the staircase leading to the next level of rooms. A & C embraced their classy vintage roles and hopped right into character with the hotel.

Sharing a staircase kiss

There are no words that can describe the way this space made me feel, and the staff were beyond kind. I hope I have more couples and clients that want to explore and use this absolutely beautiful space to tell their story.

Cozy vibes all around
