What's it like to work with you on the wedding day?
I am your advocate and your time keeper (unless you have a day of coordinator, then I’m your second line timekeeper) as well as your photographer. I’m there to hype you up while also keeping you calm and comfortable for the events of the day. I will remind you how amazing you look and how perfect your day is (even with some minor hiccups). I work for YOU and your partner - I’m only there to capture the moments/people that YOU have hired me to capture. No one gets to boss me around except you (and the day of coordinator if we’re running a little over on time).

What’s your approach?
I am a huge fan of candid shots, as well as some posed. I approach with humor and lighthearted fun to get everyone relaxed and ready to give me their best smiles when it comes to group pictures. I make sure to talk to people while I’m at the event to get a feel of different personalities so I know what will get a laugh or giggle and what will make people feel more comfortable in front of the camera. When it comes to the couple, I like to guide you through poses and motions to capture the right emotions. The day is about your love and big emotions - you can’t force that. So I’m there to invoke those feelings when it’s time for just the three of us to work together.

Who owns the rights to the photos and what are my rights?
Once I’m done with the photos you have full printing and posting rights (as long as the posting does not come with further highly edited filters on the pictures), the only thing you do not have rights to is using them for commercial purposes (highly uncommon unless you and your partner are professional models), in which case I would have another contract and pricing system built for the specific situation.

What is the typical delivery timeline?
If you’re getting an engagement session done, the typical timeline is 2-3 weeks - however usually sooner as I’ve recently changed my work schedule since my daughter started school. You get a sneak peak either the night of the shoot or the following day. I want to make sure you approve of the editing style before moving forward to the full gallery. Once I have your go-ahead, I finish your gallery. I’ll send you texts and let you know as I add to your online gallery. You have full access to them with a password and a download pin, and those will stay up and active for at least one month AFTER your wedding gallery has been completed. The same thing with your wedding gallery, however it would be closer to 4-5 weeks since it will be a much bigger gallery and most likely have a few small things to tweak throughout the day (small photoshop edits to make)

What happens if there is an emergency and either the wedding is cancelled or you for whatever reason can’t make the wedding?
If the wedding is cancelled then any payments you had made prior to the date would be refunded (except for the retainer fee, which will be discussed below) and a cancellation contract will be sent for you to sign.
If I’M the one who can’t make it to the wedding, I will do everything in my power to find a replacement for your day and any funds you had paid me up until that point would go to that photographer as they’re the ones who are doing the work - HOWEVER if there is an engagement session then I would keep the retainer fee and the rest would go to the stand in photographer. I would make sure to send someone I personally trust, and have your permission to move forward with. I have a list of photographers in the area that I am completely comfortable with having take over if that is needed.

What happens if I need to cancel the contract with you, and do I lose your deposit?
If you needed to cancel the contract, the deposit would be a conversation we can have. If we’re in a specific timeline from your event (within a month) the retainer would not be refunded unless I am able to fill your date.
Another option is using your retainer to go toward a future session with me, whether that’s a solo or family session. I would be more than happy to accommodate that!

Do you take payment plans or do you want the full payment up front?
I do take payment plans! It’s mostly what will work for you. I’ve had people want to put down the full 50% at the time of booking (there’s a lot of wiggle room with the timing of that, you just need to communicate with me), and I’ve had brides put down a small retainer and then do monthly payments starting at a certain time. And the retainer is calculated based on what you can make work for the monthly payments. OR the monthly payments are based on how much you’re willing to put down. ALL final payments are due the day AFTER the event. I try my best to work with people and what their needs are. These days are complicated with the economy, and everyone deserves to have the photographer they want there.
